Our Early 5's program helps to build a solid foundation for future academic success. Students explore the world around them through a multi-sensory, play-based approach. Students must be 5 by October 30th to enter our Early 5's program.
Curriculum
Religion
Our Religion curriculum introduces students to the Saints and symbols of the Catholic Church through hands-on activities and age-appropriate crafts. Students also attend a monthly chapel visit to begin exposing them to the various elements of our church and the mass.
Language Arts
Our Language Arts curriculum focuses on recognizing letters and the sounds they make. Students will also learn about rhyming, syllables, and other various pre-reading skills in order to prepare them for Kindergarten. Students in Early 5’s also work on direct draws throughout the year to build fine motor skills and complete writing journals to reinforce letter learning.
MAth
Our Math curriculum covers a wide variety of early math skills including counting, 1:1 correspondence, shape recognition, and patterns. Students use a wide variety of manipulative to reinforce these skills. Students in Early 5’s are also introduced to simple addition and measurement.
Social studies/science/health
Students are introduced to a variety of topics including seasons, weather, holidays, animals, personal hygiene, and safety. Early 5’s students also explore community workers, animals on the farm, and Ohio animals.
